Hello to anyone looking to become a freight broker agent or work from home. Ive been in the industry for over 13 years and work daily as a freight broker agent. i can tell you and anyone who reads this to not sign into an online school. Theres to many out there now who have and do not move freight but only want to train. Im willing to help anyone and guide you in the right direction. you can learn on your own and it will cost you much less than a training course thats being offered. Also if you see a firm offering agent positions that also offer paid training courses this is a good sign to stay away. those of us who actually move freight daily understand that networking together is an important factor to our success. Moving freight is not that difficult to do but the important factor is the quality of freight and the consistency of your freight. I wish all you the best in your new career as freight agents and those who are serious and motivated I am always willing to speak with. Just email me your details at and Ill be happy to speak with you.

Hi how can I get in contact with you to learn about the freight brokerfreight doc in Blue Ridge, Georgia said:Anyone interested in becoming an agent needs to first understand the position. Before easily getting involved with a firm who is looking to just anyone, needs to realize what they are getting into. A developed agent or broker has the same job description and the entire purpose of these positions is to provide logistical solutions. Be careful getting with a firm who excepts you with no experience. Usually these firms are operated by people with even less experience. Your success comes from building a foundation, not from getting with a firm. Never try to start without a foundation. Knowing the exact industry to want to pursue, becoming a professional within that industry, and confidently having the knowledge before ever thinking about moving forward. This is the position you need to be in before ever trying to join a firm. Would you try to pull teeth before finishingdentistschool ? Of course not. I say to everyone be patient and first get your knowledge, move strategically, plan ahead, dont jump to quick as you will have mostly stumbling blocks the entire time, youll get frustrated and then youll quit like most do. Freight brokering can be done, but again be careful with anyone who takes you with no experience, Im sure youll hear soon from them that theirs a fee etc…and most of these companies dont move freight regardless. Its a number game to them..resulting in failure. Good luck to you all

Just tried sending you an email about your training and it was sent back as undeliverable so if you would email me at about your training..thanks

Hello and thanks for your words of advice. I have a question. I am currently a shipping department supervisor at Sanderson Farms, in Waco, TX. We load out about 60 reefer trucks per day and I know all of them. I would like to say that I am quite knowledgeable about the fresh meatbusiness. If I wanted to set up a deal between, say, myself, one of my carriers that I see every day, and the pilgrims pride plant down the street, how would I do that? For example, lets say that I know that Norco trucking is looking for a load to take back to Mississippi. I contacted pilgrims and they have a load that needs to go to mississippi. Can I put this together on my own? (lets say that I have the money to do it). I guess, what Im asking is, how do you break into this business, without having freight Broker in your resume?

Well, you either get a brokers license, or get a job as an agent under another broker. Brokering on your own, without a license, opens you up to a world of liability and, naturally, is aFederaloffense.

It is against thelawto do that. It sounds like you are trying to go around the company you are working for and make some extra money. That is un ethical. You are double dipping and trying to get around the Brokerage Regulations. If you dont know the basic laws of Transportation, you should read up on them before you start trying to skirt them.

What you have there is a world of opportunity and I get excited to hear such things. You would need a broker license to move the loads on your own, but better yet I would say be patient because your learning from where you are. Information is key to what we do. If you want to know more pls feel free to email me and we can talk about possible opportunitys within your position. The key word i use all the time is strategic and you my friend are positioned perfectly. Thanks for the comment and sorry for the late reply, been busy moving loads out of your area.

Becoming a Freight Broker Agent is not as easy as just taking a online course. First to address the courses. Do not waste your money paying people to Train you most Brokerages wont acknowledge those online courses. Its kind of a catch 22. They want you to have experience, but wont hire you so you can gain experience. My advice find another line of work to get into. Your going to spend a lot of time cold calling and competing to book a load at which point you may not get it any ways. Best of luck to those who want to try.. Ive seen no money in this venture

Have you tried a different type of search. Below is an article on a new search from Poachable.

freight doc in Blue Ridge, Georgia said:Becoming a freight broker or agent is definitely an interesting career. I recommend to anyone the first place to begin is to determine what part oflogisticsyou want to move freight in. Moving freight as an agent or broker can only be done successfully by someone knowing what freight they trying to move. Become an expert in the industry you want to be successful in. Meaning if you want to move lumber, then be an expert in the lumber industry. So many people start off and fail because they try to broker any kind of loads etc. I move freight everyday with the same companys and the reason is because I know the industry that Im moving freight in. You will see the doors of opportunity open when you know what your trying to do. How can you call yourself a professional if you dont really know what your moving. The shipping companys want to work with those who understand their needs. Their needs do not end or begin with just moving their loads, it begins with knowing their product and their company. We are professional logistic service providers and your foundation and beginning start here. If you want to know more I am happy to speak with any of you and tell you some pointers and the right direction your heading. you can email me at Also a rule of thumb, if you find new firms looking for new agents, its a good sign to stay away, your only as good as who you represent. Beware of the companys offering training courses online or 1 week training programs because it just doesnt work that way.. thanks and good luck to you all.[/QUOTE
